چکیده
Understanding the role that exciton diffusion plays in organic solar cells is a crucial to understanding recent rise power conversion effciencies brought about by non-fullerene acceptors (NFA). Established methods for measuring lengths require specialized equipment designed high-resolution time-resolved photoluminescence (TRPL). Here we introduce technique, coined pulsed-PLQY, measure length of without any temporal measurements. Using Monte-Carlo model simulate dynamics within thin film semiconductor and analyse results using both pulsed-PLQY TRPL methods. We find has larger operational region depends less on excitation fuence than approach. validate these simulated preforming measurements films reproduce predicted trends. Pulsed-PLQY then used evaluate variety technologically relevant semiconductors. It found NFA's are much benchmark fullerene this increase driven an diffusivity.

Direct measurement of the triplet exciton diffusion length in organic semiconductors.
We present a new method to measure the triplet exciton diffusion length in organic semiconductors. N,N'-di-[(1-naphthyl)-N,N'-diphenyl]-1,1'-biphenyl)-4,4'-diamine (NPD) has been used as a model system. Triplet excitons are injected into a thin film of NPD by a phosphorescent thin film, which is optically excited and forms a sharp interface with the NPD layer. The penetration profile of the tri...
متن کاملEffects of optical interference and energy transfer on exciton diffusion length measurements in organic semiconductors
Exciton diffusion is of great importance to the future design of high efficiency organic photovoltaics. Exciton diffusion studies require accurate experimental techniques. This paper addresses two important complications that can arise in exciton diffusion length measurements made by analyzing luminescence from thin films on quenching substrates: namely, the effects of optical interference and ...

Adv. Mater. 2010, 22, 1233–1236 2010 WILEY-VCH Verlag G T IO N One of the most fundamental properties of both organic and inorganic semiconductors is charge mobility. It has been unambiguously shown that the mobility in both of these materials systems is strongly linked to the degree of long range order—that is, more extended crystallinity leads to a larger charge mobility, which ultimately det...
متن کاملQuasi–steady–state Approximation for Reaction–diffusion Equations
In this paper, we present a rigorous proof of the quasi– steady–state approximation (QSSA) used in chemistry, in two different settings: the first one corresponds to reaction–diffusion equations, while the second one is devoted to ODEs, with a particular attention to the effect of temperature.
متن کاملExciton/Charge-Transfer Electronic Couplings in Organic Semiconductors.
Charge transfer (CT) states and excitons are important in energy conversion processes that occur in organic light emitting devices (OLEDS) and organic solar cells. An ab initio density functional theory (DFT) method for obtaining CT-exciton electronic couplings between CT states and excitons is presented. This method is applied to two organic heterodimers to obtain their CT-exciton coupling and...
